The Austin Ki Aikido Center is a nonprofit organization, founded in 1983 and dedicated to teaching the principles of mind and body coordination through Ki and Aikido. The teaching methods are those taught by Master Koichi Tohei, founder of the Ki Society International.

Benefits of Ki Aikido

• It is an enjoyable lifelong activity resulting in fitness, flexibility, stress reduction, and increased health and well-being.

• It is a noncompetitive yet challenging activity; there are no winners or losers.

• It helps builds self-confidence and the ability to react appropriately in situations involving conflict and the need for self-defense.

• The dojo (or training hall) is a special place. While you are there, the outside world is left behind. It is a place to learn about yourself and how you interact with others: your expectations, fears, and reactions in challenging situations.

• It's fun!

We offer training to anyone regardless of race, sex, religion or ethnic origin. Some Austin Ki Aikido Center instructors offer seminars to businesses and organizations in the Austin metropolitan and surrounding areas. Additionally, AKAC provides informal demonstrations of both Ki and Aikido.

AKAC is a cooperative effort that requires the participation of all of its members to thrive and grow. We welcome you to join us.
